South Brent station, well, where the station used to be. I was told that where the ticket office was is now a dental practice. I was hoping the signal box was still there, but told that had been demolished one day, out of the blue. The station was the start of The Primrose Line that headed to Kingsbridge.

I have footage of the signal box, originally shot in 1997 with dad. It’s not the best quality now, but at least the images are saved, so people can remember what the station used to look like. In the photo below, I have put in markers of where the ticket office was and where the signal box was.

South Brent Station used to be here, but is now gone. Highlighted is the only original building and where the Signal Box used to be.

Tomorrow, I will be starting at Loddiswell and heading north to follow the route. I need to get permission to get on the land at Sorley Tunnel, which I’m still waiting on. I will have Back Along the Kingsbridge Line Revisited ready for the 60th anniversary next month though.
